My Dog Was Almost Evicted From a Five Star Hotel
People always assume my sessions are dark, serious, intimidating, and full of pain.
You know... lots of whips, strict rules, scary eye contact, and men questioning every life decision that brought them to my door.
They're not wrong.
But what they don't realize is that after more than twelve years as a professional Mistress, I have collected enough comedy material to start my own Netflix special.
This story still makes me laugh every single time I think about it.
Let's call my client Ed, a polite gentleman from the UK.
He emailed me wanting a proper dog training session at his hotel.
Now, when I say "dog training," I don't mean putting on a pair of floppy ears and calling it a day.
No.
If you're going to be a dog, then commit to the role.
Go big or go home.
So I packed my suitcase like the world's most confusing pet shop.
Collar.
Leash.
Whip.
Dog suit.
Dog bowl.
Dog treats.
A tennis ball.
Everything except flea shampoo.
The next day I arrived at his hotel. Ed came downstairs, greeted me politely, and helped me carry what probably looked like the luggage of a very eccentric veterinarian.
Once inside the room, the transformation began.
"Get dressed."
Within minutes, there was no more Ed.
Only... my dog.
He dropped onto all fours immediately.
Excellent posture.
Good enthusiasm.
Questionable life choices.
His first lesson was simple.
Dogs don't drink from glasses.
Dogs drink from bowls.
So I placed a bowl on the floor and filled it with what he had requested before the session.
Then came obedience training.
Sit.
Stay.
Crawl.
Heel.
Good boy.
Bad boy.
Every command had to be followed immediately.
No talking.
No human words.
From that moment on, barking was his only language.
If he wanted water...
Bark.
If he wanted permission to move...
Bark.
If he was confused...
More barking.
Honestly, if someone had walked past the room, they would have sworn Westminster Dog Show had moved into the hotel.
Then we played fetch.
I threw the tennis ball across the room.
Off he went, chasing it with surprising dedication.
He grabbed it with his mouth, sprinted back on all fours, dropped it at my feet, and looked up waiting for praise.
Again.
And again.
And again.
If he wasn't quick enough before I finished counting...
Well...
Let's just say motivation arrived in the form of my whip.
He suddenly became the fastest Labrador in Southeast Asia.
Everything was going perfectly.
Until...
The hotel room phone rang.
I answered it.
"Good afternoon, ma'am," the receptionist said politely.
"We've received a complaint from the neighboring room."
I glanced at my obedient little puppy sitting perfectly beside me.
"Oh?"
"Yes... apparently there is a dog barking inside your room."
I looked at Ed.
Ed looked at me.
Neither of us made a sound.
The receptionist continued completely seriously.
"I would just like to remind you that pets are not permitted in the hotel."
At this point I nearly lost it.
I bit the inside of my cheek so hard I thought I might need stitches.
She kept going.
"We'll be sending a member of staff to inspect the room in approximately ten minutes."
Ten.
Minutes.

I slowly put down the phone.
Silence.
Then I turned toward my very well-trained dog.
For the first time during the entire session...
He looked genuinely terrified.
Forget punishment.
Forget obedience.
Forget humiliation.
This man was about to be evicted because he was simply too convincing as a Golden Retriever.
I looked at him and said,
"Congratulations."
"You've passed the dog test."
"You even fooled the hotel."
The next ten minutes became a military operation.
The dog suit disappeared.
The collar vanished.
The leash was stuffed into the suitcase.
The whip disappeared under the clothes.
Dog treats.
Dog bowl.
Tennis ball.
Everything hidden faster than a teenager cleaning their room after hearing, "Your mother will be home in five minutes."
By the time hotel staff knocked on the door...
There stood one perfectly respectable British gentleman wearing normal clothes.
And me.
Looking completely innocent.
The staff politely glanced around the room.
No dog.
No barking.
No evidence.
They apologized and left.
The moment the door clicked shut...
We looked at each other for about three seconds.
Then we both exploded with laughter.
To this day, it remains one of the funniest sessions I've ever had.
After all these years, I've trained plenty of puppies.
But Ed will always have one achievement no other client can claim.
He's the only dog I've ever owned that almost got us both kicked out of a five star hotel.
Power is power.
